feignderstand - pretend to understand, especially after someone has said something 3x without you comprehending...hilarious right?

SPF 30 or 55 does not protect 2 or 3 times as much as SPF 15. They come up with these numbers based on how long it takes you to burn. So if you turn red in the sun after 10 minutes without sunscreen, but you just put on an spf 30 on, then you are protected for 300 minutes.  They get these numbers also by slathering on the sunscreen like icing on a cake, so a thin layer like most people have on is usually equivalent to 5 or something.

affronted - saying something in a disrespectful insulting way, intending to insult

Beijing has smog indexes up to 700..or 900..Toronto is like 7.2.

This week I learned...

The lebanese are the most successful immigrants in the world.  Jewish people hold 20% of nobel prizes, though they only constitute 1% of the worldwide population.

B complex vitamins are excellent to take if you feel brain fog or are detoxing from alcohol.

Training at high level intervals (sprint, walk, sprint, walk) creates more mitochondria in your cells, which means more energy. You have to give your body a reason to produce more mitochondria, if your body thinks it doesn't need them, it won't produce them.

The beginning 2000s started a trickle down effect where there wasn't enough jobs for the very VERY smart and highly educated.  So they took even lower level jobs, which is why we now need a masters to teach pre-k.

Different countries and even within the US, there are different boards of health that tout different amounts of alcohol as the healthy limit.  Spain is the highest at 7 glasses a day.  France is 3-4.  Within the US it is between 1-3.  Alcohol doesn't necessarily kill brain cells (autopsied individuals have been studied and heavy drinkers had just as many brain cells as non-drinkers).  It is the neuronal signals that get disrupted.

Men have more water/blood ratio than women, which is why they can drink more.

Ok more later...I learned a lot this week...

This started out as a site to promote my etsy site and just to upload neat things I found.  I tired of it though naturally...and luckily pinterest came along.  Then for a millisecond I was going blog about every bottle of wine I drank just to keep track of all of them and then potentially show it to employers one day. Like, people in the wine business, not just any employer.  Hey, I drink an unhealthy amount of alcohol, hire me!
So NOW I'm going to blog about everything I learn that I want to remember.  Pinterest cannot aid me in this and I have a horrible memory, so wala. Here we go...Alot of ways to educate children will be on here too...aspiring teacher and parent.

Rosa Mystica Cabernet Franc 2009

SOOO I guess I'm going to start posting every bottle of wine I drink on here, just so I can keep a list...and maybe one day show it to an employer...and get hired for proven obsession and knowledge.  If nothing else it's just a way to track everything I drink and whether I like it or not.  I suppose I will keep posting about everything else that interests me as well.......(just for the record I've probably tried over 500 wines..the obsession has grown to a seriously annoying habit.....this morning I realized I was officially annoyed with wine after wasting 2 hours once again on research....and I make about 1200 a month..so.)

So this Rosa Mystica, Cabernet Franc 2009...its made with 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvingon supposedly.  I have only had one other Cab Franc called "The Franc".  I had it at Sandra Bullock's resaurant in Austin called Bess Bistro (AMAZING food) and thankfully found it at Whole Foods (also at Spec's..its about 16 bucks and pretty amazing.)  So back to Rosa Mystica...It doesn't taste like a cab franc based on the ONE other I've tasted.  It tastes like a red blend.  It was 40 bucks...and tastes like a 15 to 20 dollar bottle...so a little disappointing, but not disappointing enough to take back....plus I love the bottle and I'm gonna keep it as decor.  It has some pretty heavy tannins on the end, has a nose of chocolate..boysenberry in the mouth..magenta (between red and purple)....not terribly complex, but its not thin or boring...not the most interesting in the least but it has an invigorating pleasing taste..(except you HAVE to aerate this guy because the first sip I took tasted like a kid's juice box)...I don't have an aerator so I poured it back and forth between two glasses for a while...does this work?  Who knows...
So should you buy this?....if you have fourty dollars to blow, sure..but if you have NONE like me..spend your fortune on something that gives you more bang for the buck.  Like "The Mariner" Dry Creek Valley...2007.....That will be the next nice bottle of wine I buy..until then...10 to 20s for me.
